A set of three word puzzles (word search, word scramble, crossword) built around positive self-talk vocabulary, to help students learn the meaning of words like worth, capable, believe, proud, resilient, strong, kind, valid, encourage, affirm, deserve, and progress.
Students identify possessive adjectives and use them to express ownership or relationships in sentences and questions. Supported-word and choice tasks lead into original writing, giving teachers several ways to introduce and revisit the forms. Discuss how changing the possessive changes the meaning, especially when a prompt leaves the owner or relationship open to more than one interpretation.
The set practices possessive adjectives through word-box completion, multiple choice and sentence ordering. Introduce ownership language with a model, then choose a format that matches students’ reading and writing support needs.
