Solving Quadratic Equations using the Quadratic Formula Matching Worksheet
Math, Algebra, Grade 8, 9, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets
Do your students need practice solving quadratic equations using the quadratic formula? In this matching worksheet students will solve 13 functions using the quadratic formula and match their answers. Includes 13 questions and matching options for immediate feedback. Matching worksheets provide a chance for students to receive some feedback on their answers while they are working. If they cannot find their answer they know that they need to try the questions again. If they use the same answer more than once they know they did something wrong. This allows teachers the opportunity to work with struggling students in a different way while other students are working on the worksheet. The matching element of this worksheet also makes going over the worksheet a lot quicker. Teachers can choose to just run through what each question matches too and students will have the correct answers already on their paper. If teachers are grading these worksheets themselves it also goes very quickly but student work can still be seen. Lastly, the option bank makes it a little more difficult for students to guess at the answers. Since there are so many options it is often quicker for students to work out the math problems themselves than guess and check for the answers.

An answer key is provided to make grading easy. This lesson should take most 10th grade students around 25-30 minutes to complete. I leave all of my lessons in Word, so that the difficulty can be ramped up or down by the teacher using it that day. I also include PDF copies if you prefer to simply print the lesson as is and distribute to students or a substitute teacher. This is my original work and I rely on sales of it to support my classroom and family. Please feel free to alter it for your own classroom but do not post my work or any altered version of my work online where it can be accessed by anyone. Thank you for supporting my classroom and for respecting my copyrighted work. This lesson was designed for 10th grade World History students but is applicable to United States History courses or any other course that examines the alliances of World War One or the ramifications of World War One. Answer key included.
