Make slope and intercepts meaningful through rental costs, business situations and other linear word problems . Students move from interpreting graphs to writing equations and finding unknown costs, times or starting values. Two sets of guided notes lead into corresponding homework, and worked answers support feedback on both calculations and the meanings of variables and units.
Eighteen equations — covering linear forms such as y = x + 4 alongside nonlinear ones like y = 0.5^x, y = 3x squared + 1 and y = |x| — are matched to graphs across three sections, with students identifying whether each equation-graph pairing represents a linear function. A fourth section asks four short-answer questions, prompting students to describe what linear functions look like on a coordinate plane, give examples of linear and nonlinear equations, and explain when a straight line is not a function. The worksheet is labeled with the Common Core code CCSS.Math.Content.8.F.A.3 and includes a full answer section identifying each match and classification, with additional explanations for selected items, such as noting that y = |x| is piecewise linear but not a true linear function. It is designed as independent practice or homework following a lesson introducing linear versus nonlinear functions.
Linear Quadratic Systems Guided Notes and Homework Set This math resource teaches students about linear quadratic systems. The informative guided notes allow learners to build understanding of this graphing concept step-by-step.
Practice setting up and solving linear equations and systems of linear equations through age-related word problems, at a high-school algebra level.
Four line-symmetry worksheets of increasing difficulty move grade 4-6 students from finding symmetry to designing with it, all on numbered 20-by-20 grids. Practice 1 presents six shapes whose lines of symmetry students draw — one shape has none, two have one line, two have two, and one hides a diagonal. Practice 2 shows half of a large shape beside the vertical line of symmetry at x = 10, and students copy the dots and lines across it to complete the figure. Practice 3 turns the task social: each student draws a symmetry line and starts a simple design, then trades with a friend to finish each other's shapes. Practice 4 closes with a coloured grid design that must include vertically and horizontally symmetrical parts, and an answer key rounds out the set.
Translate geometric notation into drawings of segments, rays, angles, and related lines. Students also construct examples involving parallel, perpendicular, and intersecting lines. Use one notation prompt to model the drawing conventions before students create and label the remaining figures.
This product covers the 2016 Virginia (VA) Standards of Learning (SOL) 3.11 The student will identify and draw representations of points, lines, line segments, rays, and angles.
This worksheet is a great way for students to practice converting between different liquid measures. It will help them build their understanding of metric units.
This worksheet is a great way for students to practice their liquid measurements skills. They will color each container with specific amounts. This will help them learn and remember the different measurements.

Students locate positive and negative fractions and decimals by matching each value to a lettered point on a number line. The shared line encourages comparison of nearby values and attention to their position relative to zero. A matching-letter key supports checking; use integer marks and equivalent forms to help students justify a location before selecting a letter.
This is a Logarithmic Characteristics Worksheet that will give students practice with finding characteristics. There are 8 problems - 4 per page. Students will complete the characteristics for each function that is given as an equation.
