Addition and subtraction of 5-Digit numbers - standard algorithm
Math, Addition and Subtraction, Addition, Subtraction, Grade 4, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets
These unlimited Worksheets provide an extensive source for reinforcing the skills needed for adding and subtracting 5-digit numbers using the standard algorithm. You can differentiate right from the beginning and build up the confidence, accuracy and speed at a pace that is just right for each of your students. There are 6 Core Sets of worksheets , but with the options provided these extend much further. It begins with addition of 4 & 5-Digit numbers and subtraction of a 4-Digit from a 5-Digits. You have a choice of whether to give your students a worksheet with the questions prepared fully in the standard format or add in the extra step of requiring your student to write out the questions in their exercise books to practice aligning the digits based on their place values. This choice continues on with all the other sets of addition with two, three or four 5-Digit numbers and subtraction only with 5-Digit numbers You can choose from three number formats based on the way the thousands and hundreds are separated in your region i.e. with no space, a comma or with a space. Answers found on the second page of every worksheet are automatically generated when you create a new worksheet. A standout feature is the worksheet randomization. With a single click, you can generate as many new set of questions as you want, making it a renewable resource for the entire school year. Be it for classwork, revision, or homework ensuring students achieve proficiency in the topic. You could also use any of the worksheets to explain or introduce the subject to your class as you will have almost unlimited examples to work with and they will be different from the actual worksheets you hand out to your students. As these worksheets need little explanation and no preparation, they are ideal if you need to leave work for a substitute teacher. Lastly, it's essential to note that these resources are compatible PDF documents. They operate seamlessly with the official Adobe Acrobat Reader on both Windows and Mac. Plus, the randomizing features are effortlessly accessible via touchscreen devices or interactive whiteboards.

The Flip Flop Fiasco
Math, Multiplication and Division, Division, Grade 3, Worksheets & Printables, Word Problems, Worksheets
The Flip Flop Fiasco is an exciting math activity that your students will enjoy. Here is the breakdown of the scenario students will be prompted with: All the kids in our class wore flip flops last Friday. There were so many stubbed toes that our teacher called the day a ‘fiasco’! At the end of the day, our teacher sat down to find out just how many bandages she’d used from her box, which had 1,000 bandages in it at the beginning of the day. Using the following information, the attached work-mat, and your mathematical genius, can you figure out how many bandages our teacher used and how many are left in her box? o Our class usually has 26 students but 3 were absent. o During first recess, the following fiascos occurred… 1. 12 students stubbed two of their toes. 2. 8 students stubbed three. 3. The rest of the students didn’t stub any toes. o During second recess, things got really bad… 1. 9 students stubbed 3 of their toes. 2. 7 students stubbed four. 3. 5 students stubbed all the toes on their left feet. 4. The rest of the students didn’t stub any toes. o And last recess was the worst… 1. 6 students stubbed all the toes on their right feet. 2. 8 students stubbed 7 of their toes. 3. The rest of the students stubbed all the toes on both feet! Extensions (If you want to impress your teacher) o What if our teacher’s box had started with 500 bandages? How many would she have left after our flip flip ‘fiasco’? o What if twice as many toes had been stubbed? How many bandages would our teacher have used? How many would she have had left in a box of 1,000? ***Answer key included

Multiplication Packet
Math, Multiplication and Division, Division, Grade 3, Worksheets & Printables, Worksheets
Have your students just started learning multiplication? Have they mastered the skill? Do you have students in your classroom who could use additional practice to sharpen their multiplication skills? This is aMultiplication Packetfor your 3rd grade students. It may be used in class or as homework. The objective of this resource is for students to improve and master multiplication skills. The activities in this packet follow Common Core standards. I use these sheets as my homework program, though they can easily be used as in-class practice. If you choose to implement this during class time, you can do so in a variety of ways from page to page: Whole group – Complete a page with your entire class and you can project the page onto the whiteboard. Small group – Have students work in small groups to complete a page. You can also pull a small group to your table and work alongside them. This allows you to informally assess their mastery. Partner work – Students can work in groups of two to complete pages that you assign. Math centers – Pages can be placed in small groups for students to complete. This pack is broken down into 11 parts: --Equal Groups --More Equal Groups --Multiples of Six --Multiples of Seven --Multiples of Eight --Multiples of Nine --Multiples of Four --Multiples of Three --Multiples of Two, Five, and Ten --Multiplying Multiples of Ten --Properties of Multiplication I like to begin with the more difficult multiples & end with the least difficult as it gives them more time to work on the harder stuff. I spend very little time on multiples of 0 and 1 so you won’t find much of that in this pack. I hope you enjoy!
