Welcome to Teach Simple, where contributing teachers like you can upload worksheets, lesson plans, and educational resources to earn passive income. In this blog post, we’ll guide you through the essential steps to get started, including what you need to know before uploading your products, how payment works, and how to set up your shop. Let’s get started!

Before You Start Uploading Products:

At Teach Simple, each product is reviewed by our quality assurance (QA) team to ensure that all products meet our quality guidelines and are easily discoverable on our marketplace and search engines.

Product Approval Queue

We have two streams of product approval queues to ensure that our marketplace maintains high-quality standards while also providing timely feedback to our contributors.

When you first start uploading your products, they will go through the regular queue, which may take longer for approval as we thoroughly assess each resource to ensure it meets our quality guidelines.

Once you have successfully uploaded 10 products that all meet our quality criteria, your account will be flagged for express product approval. This means that your subsequent submissions will be reviewed within 48 hours, allowing you to get your resources to the marketplace more quickly.

Getting Your Products Approved

To ensure a smooth and successful experience on Teach Simple, it’s important to understand what we look for in the product approval process. We have established a set of guidelines and a review process that every product must go through before being made available on the platform. Here’s what you need to know to get your products approved and start earning passive income as a contributing teacher:

Original Descriptions: Each product must have an original description of at least 150 words. This description should clearly outline the content, objectives, and usage of the resource, highlighting its unique features and benefits. You can not copy/paste descriptions from other marketplaces but you can use Claude Ai to help speed up this process. Well-crafted descriptions not only help your products provide valuable information to potential buyers but also ensure your products have the best opportunity on search engines.

Proper Tagging: Properly tagging your product is crucial for its visibility and relevance. Make sure to tag your product with the correct subject, grade level, and type (e.g., worksheet, lesson plan, activity). Accurate tags help educators find exactly what they’re looking for and ensure that your resources reach the right audience.

Avoiding Common Pitfalls:

  • No Links to Other Marketplaces: Avoid adding links to other marketplaces such as Teachers Pay Teachers, Made by Teachers, or Etsy in your product descriptions. Links to your own personal website are permissible, but we encourage you to keep the focus on the Teach Simple platform.
  • No Extra Terms and Conditions: Do not include additional Terms and Conditions within your products. At Teach Simple, all products are governed by a standard set of license terms to ensure consistency and clarity for both contributors and buyers. If you wish to add T&C to your product please use the template provided.
  • No Watermarks on Images: Please do not add watermarks to your images. All images uploaded to the Teach Simple marketplace will automatically have watermarks applied to protect your intellectual property.
  • Avoid Spamming: Avoid keyword stuffing in your descriptions, as this can negatively impact the readability and perceived quality of your resource. Similarly, tagging your product with irrelevant subjects and grade levels can lead to confusion and frustration for potential buyers. Stick to accurate and pertinent information to maintain the integrity of your products and the Teach Simple marketplace.

How Payment Works: Subscriber Share and Royalty Payments

At Teach Simple, we’ve designed a fair payment system to reward our contributors for their valuable resources. Here’s how it works:

Subscriber Share: Each product you upload is assigned a weighted value based on the quality of the product, such as the design, number of pages, type of product (worksheet, lesson plan, unit studies, etc.), and how much information you’ve provided (standards, description, etc.). When a customer directly downloads your product, the value of that download is attributed to you via the subscriber share points that product has. The more points, the more you earn. This subscriber share model ensures that your earnings reflect the impact and demand for your resources and avoids common pitfalls like cheating the system.

Royalty Payments: Royalty payments and stats are released around the 15th of each month for the previous month’s earnings. You can request a payout of your royalties at any time, and you will receive your payment within 5-7 business days via PayPal. The minimum payout is $50.00. This flexibility allows you to access your earnings when you need them, without having to wait for a specific payout date.

Requesting Payouts

Contributors can request a payout of their earnings any day of the week, from Monday through Sunday, provided they have accrued a minimum balance of $50. This minimum threshold ensures efficient processing of transactions. Once a qualifying payout is requested, the funds will be disbursed during the following week, on any business day from Monday to Friday.
